Blocked gully grating

Reported via iOS in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 06:48, Saturday 22 June 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Sand and gravel have blocked the roadside gully grating and linked sewage pipes directly outside Pump Cottage, Paines Hill. The gully has been blocked for more than six months. The pipes and gullies beyond this grating should be checked as water overtops these sending access water to the bottom of Paines Hill when it rains heavily.

  • You’ve had two weeks to investigate and sort this out! Your negligence is resulting in flooding and damage.

Please clear this gully/grating and the connected drains on Paines Hill that have been affected by this blockage.

Over 30cm of the gravel at the edge of our drive has been washed away by the water flowing over the blocked drain. I expect this to be replaced by highways as it is directly due to your negligent delay that has caused this.

The water has also eroded and undermined our wall. I expect Highways to remediate this.
