Big trees

Reported via mobile in the Report a tree problem category anonymously at 17:18, Fri 21 June 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I’m contacting you on behalf of my neighbour and myself. Mainly myself. We live in Honor close 13 and 14 ox5 2xl Kidlington .End of the street. Behind our block of flats is a bush with lots of big trees. Those trees blocks all the sun and none of us is able to enjoy any sun hours. The flats are dark and cold. My question is.. any chance someone could trim the trees at least a bit that we could get any sun light during the day? I’m attaching also some pictures that you can have an idea where is my point.

  • Thank you for your report. There are no statutory or common law rights to light for a private landowner as relates to the presence of trees. OCC look at each individual enquiry to determine if any statutory works are required which may alleviate the situation. Unfortunately, on this occasion no statutory works are appropriate on the tree as described in the enquiry, and will not be carrying out any works on this occasion.
