Overgrown hedges

Reported via mobile in the Hedges category anonymously at 21:10, Mon 17 June 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This is the third time I have reported this over the last year. The hedges between Bay Tree Rise and Essex Way are so overgrown that it is not possible to walk safely along the pavement and which is also a cycle lane. The hedges are now nearly a meter over the path forcing pedestrians into the busy road. The bins and road signage is hidden in the hedges. This his really dangerous. Please come and cut these back to behind the edge of the pavement. The width of the pavement should be 2 metres.

  • Hi no have still seen no evidence. It is now nearly impossible for two people to walk on the pavement let alone accommodate bikes. Cyclists have to duck under branches as low as 4 feet. Residents and walkers are breaking off the worst branches. The bins are hidden under the overhang and the pavement edge is now 1 meter under the undergrowth. Visibility to get out of Bay Tree Rise is compromised and this is the only non 20 mph road so people fly down the road. PLEASE come and cut the hedges back. The hedge line by the Herb Farm is how the hedges should look and you can see the difference. And accident will happen if this is not sorted out.
