Overgrown bushes and nettles encroaching on footpath
Reported via mobile in the Hedges category anonymously at 12:26, Monday 17 June 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
The bushes and stinging nettles are overgrown and encroaching on the footpath. The footpath here is very narrow and the road can be quite busy as it’s outside the school. Young children are having to walk very close to, and in some cases into, the road in order to get by without being stung. There is no pavement on the other side of the road to use instead.

The path is even more overgrown and not been cut. The section in question is the hedge that lines the baskteball park and is growing over the Edward street footpath. Families are now walking in the road which is very busy with people taking/collecting children from school. There is not other footpath and the other side of the road is often lined with cars.

This happens every year. It only gets cut once the children finish school in late July/early August. Can we please prioritise this for earlier in the year. This is dangerous, only yesterday my bag got clipped by a car wing mirror as I had to walk so close to the side of the pavement but this could so easily have been a child's head.

It’s getting very dangerous now, children are so close to the cars coming past and sometimes in the road if people are walking in both directions. Someone is going to get badly hurt if this isn’t prioritised and maintained early every spring/summer.
