Reported via desktop anonymously at 10:36, Sat 15 June 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council less than a minute later
Number 19 Crosslands Drive Abingdon have allowed their garden to grow over the footpath. Despite talking to the resident they refuse to cut it back. This has made the path impassable. This has been reported to Sovereign, twice in the last few months. However, despite it being in the tenancy agreement to Maritain the garden, Sovereign can't be bothered to do anything about it.

Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are legally obligated to properly maintain vegetation on their property that is next to the public highway. If the vegetation affects the safety of highway users, it becomes their responsibility. However, in this instance, since the highway was not obstructed, there may not be sufficient cause to take further action at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation during statutory inspections.
