Hedge is overgrown and is encroaching on the path making it difficult to pass with pushchairs or mobility scooters especially where the pedestrian crossing button is on the pavement

  • Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are legally obligated to properly maintain vegetation on their property that is next to the public highway. If the vegetation affects the safety of highway users, it becomes their responsibility. However, in this instance, since the highway was not obstructed, there may not be sufficient cause to take further action at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation during statutory inspections.
