Oxfordshire Council have failed to consult the majority of road users and general public before installing counter productive 20mph speed limits.
£8m of our council tax money wasted on an idealistic scheme that is degrading journey times by 33% on affected road sections. You are once again failing to measure and ensure improvements to one of the most important metrics for any road network, namely average journey times.
Statistics show that active safety features on cars, and Euro NCAP, have massively improved road safety. This has done more for safety than any blanket speed limit reduction which is counter productive to the very purpose of our roads.
There's lots of false information on your website about cars being more efficient at 20mph, which is utter rubbish as 50-60mph is closer to the mark for ideal economy. Also statements that you'd reconsider the schemes where bus journeys are impacted but not cars. Clearly shows biased thinking towards buses which hurtle round our countryside mostly empty and belching out more CO2 per passenger mile than modern cars which will be 100% electric before buses - too much green washing by bus operators going on and never publishing the real occupancy levels of buses inc. idle time.
As a council you are not responding to any emails and failing to consult the public and road users as you know the majority would be opposed to this utter waste of our tax money.
