Traffic lights

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The central island was removed and replaced with a set of traffic lights some time ago, but they have not been switched on. My child had nowhere safe to cross on his journey to school (the crossing point close to the roundabout is too dangerous due to the speed and lack of visibility of traffic coming off the roundabout). Why are these works so uncoordinated and what on earth is the delay - just power the lights up before a pedestrian gets hurt!
