Confusing diversion signage

Reported via mobile in the Current Roadworks - live information category anonymously at 15:21, Sat 8 June 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The A34 southbound diversion is unclear in many places where there are often 2 diamond signs at junctions making it unclear which way to go. Worst example is at end of A40 where you are presented with M40 North and M40 south both with diversion diamonds. Neither say which diamond to follow for A34 South diversion. I guessed correctly but saw two cars hesitating (creating risk) and choosing incorrectly.
