Damage to wall

Reported via mobile by Grahame Smart at 09:26, Saturday 8 June 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later

I live on the corner of Church Close and Church Road.On Friday evening between 4 and7, a small but strong retaining wall on Church Road, next to my house was destroyed, no one admitted responsibility. I don't believe a car could have done this, nor even a lorry without incurring substantial.damage. A large number of very large tractors with trailers have been using the road, and frequently come on to the pavement if there are parked cars. The 20mph limit is almost never observed. The damage to the wall is annoying and will be difficult for me to fix, however I am much more concerned about the safety of pedestrians particularly children on Church Road where the pavement is very narrow. Whilst inspecting the damage to the wall I suddenly realized that one of these tractors was just a foot behind me- frightening.
