Over hanging brambles

Reported via mobile in the Hedges category anonymously at 11:01, Friday 7 June 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

The vegetation is so over grown it’s difficult to walk around the corner safely especially as it’s on a bend to a busy roundabout. Pedestrians can’t see cars and cars can’t see pedestrians. Lots of children walk here daily on commute to school

  • The pathway is blocked by overhanging brambles. Pedestrians, including children in their way to school, have to step into the road, a busy ‘A’ road.

  • Thank you for your enquiry , I can confirm that this is a duplicate enquiry and that a defect has been raised to cut back the offending brambles and vegetation

  • I spoke to someone at OCC highways on Friday. They told me the issue had been investigated and was now a priority and the brambles would be cut back on Monday (8th July) It is now Wednesday 10th July and still hasn’t been resolved. This is very disappointing given how dangerous it is. Please action it as a matter of urgency.

  • Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are responsible for maintaining any boundary features on their property that adjoin public highways and affect highway safety. In this case, the highway appears to be impacted, so we will contact the land/property owner. If necessary, further action will be taken.
