Overgrown cycle/foot path

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation & maintenance category anonymously at 08:44, Fri 7 June 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

The cycle/foot path from Abingdon to Culham (A415) Science park needs a good maintenance in terms of cutting back all the hedges which are overgrowing and blocking a way for cyclist and pedestrians. Some places are so narrow that it is not possible for two people to pass by each other. There are many children cycling to Europa School every day and it is a big worry for their safety as we know some accidents happened there before. The cycle path is very narrow in some places. Also, it would be great if there could be a safety barrier put along the cycle path in very narrow and raised spots. Last year the Council only cleared the area in December which is way to late. If we want to make Abingdon and the local area more "green" and eco-friendly we need to make sure that Council cares more about the cycle/foot path areas.
