Stinging Nettles Obstructing Footpath

Reported via mobile in the Hedges category anonymously at 08:26, Tuesday 4 June 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Stinging Nettles and Vegetation is growing over footpath causing an obstruction to walkers and cyclists using the footpath. It means there is only enough room for one person at a time. This needs cutting back from the top of the footpath at Boxhill Road all the way down towards the stream at Boxhill Walk. Children use this path regularly to get to St Nicholas School. There is also stinging Nettles on the footpath that runs through the woods from Boxhill Walk stream into the Nature Reserve walk. This has got worse over the last few weeks due to the growing season. Please cut back all along these footpaths.

  • Ha I know those stinging nettles-they are still there! I was chucked into that patch around the late 1960s when I was attending St.Nicholas.! In Short Trousers it was not a pleasant experience! Doubt Much is going to get done about all this jungle growth obstructing folks gettin on their way. Its the same down all of Bath Street Wooton Rd,last summer out of goodness and a wheelbarrow some Wotton Roaders spent 4 days of backbreaking work clearing it.Dont know why they bothered really as its often just a load of snash & lobbed litter residents get from ingrates going to their 'free'schools. So lets leave it all up to the Council,The Schools,& The Local MP etc. Of course if maintenance is completly abandoned as it appears to be being so in a few more weeks itll be pretty much impossible for The Folks North of The Stream to 'get through'at all on foot or scrambling bike/electric scoota or jay parked SUV. A sort of vegetative Cuttelsowe Wall Scenario! :)
