Very difficult to walk as stinging netels etc on pavement

Reported via desktop in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 13:30, Sun 2 June 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

There is a small area along the Faringdon Rd between Wellington Way and Westfield which is opposite the pub, which has overgrown vegetation broken fencing and a tree trunk encroaching onto the pavement! it's making walking along there difficult. This has been reported before I believe several times but no action seems to have been taken.

  • Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are legally obligated to properly maintain vegetation on their property that is next to the public highway. If the vegetation affects the safety of highway users, it becomes their responsibility. However, in this instance, since the highway was not obstructed, there may not be sufficient cause to take further action at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation during statutory inspections.
