Grass verge restricting driving view

Reported via desktop in the Grass category anonymously at 20:43, Sat 1 June 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The grass on the verge next to the entrance to Freeland Gate is growing so tall that it restricts the view for cars pulling out onto the A4095. Please could this be cut down - both sides of the entrance to Freeland Gate to avoid accidents occuring. This issue has only been an issue for a week or two but the grass is constantly growing.

  • Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are legally obligated to properly maintain vegetation on their property that is next to the public highway. If the vegetation affects the safety of highway users, it becomes their responsibility. However, in this instance, since the highway was not obstructed, there may not be sufficient cause to take further action at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation during statutory inspections.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
