Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and West Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later
Cotswold wildlife park causing excessive protracted and repeated traffic flow through issues. This cannot continue. What is being done? Who is responsible? This issue is clearly not resolved. Some people have to work and get to appointments.

Thank you for your report.
This area has been looked at on previous occasions including engagement with the Wildlife Park.
Discussions have taken place regarding traffic management proposals and recommendations made by the Police. Unfortunately discussions with the Wildlife park have not been fruitful and no positive resolution has been forthcoming.
In terms of what the County can do, any improvements to the layout of the junctions would likely cost a high six figure sum, possibly into the seven figure range.
Having checked our injury accident database (which is a record of all accidents that result in one or more casualty) I can at least say (in terms of casualties) the junction does not have a significant accident history. There have been 3 such incidents recorded in the last five years, two of which were classified as “slight” with one as “serious”. I understand there was an incident recently where a vehicle travelling toward Lechlade left the carriageway to the nearside and demolished the signs at the junction. Unfortunately we do not keep records of damage only incidents. It is often the case that apparently dangerous junctions have a good accident history due to the fact that as the perception it is dangerous, drivers exercise more caution thus avoiding collisions. On a more positive note, and as a cheaper option, we have a proposal to upgrade the advance signing on the approaches. This will be dependent on other funding priorities.
I will also forward this messagen to our “Vision Zero Team” to see if this location is on their radar. Please see the following link for further info…
