Overgrown planting obstructing view at junction
Reported via mobile in the Hedges category anonymously at 21:23, Thursday 30 May 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later
This hedging/planting is regularly overgrown & obstructs the view for car drivers when pulling out of or into Campion Place. This is made worse by inconsiderate parking on Lucerne Avenue which is too close to the junction. This requires urgent action before an accident occurs. The council should consider replacing this planting with grass to prevent this keep happening

This needs actioning urgently as there has been a report of 3 near misees with cars, 1 with a cyclist in the past few days. It is only a matter of time before an actual incident occurs with risk of injury or even death if it's a cyclist or pedestrian that's hit.

This has not been fixed more than a month later!! Local residents trimmed the worst bits about 3 weeks ago but, id course, it has grown & remains a danger to pedestrians, cyclists & motorists - please action this urgently before someone is seriously injured or worss

The overgrown hedge had been reported numerous times over the past month. You DO NOT have a clear line of sight when exiting from campion place onto Lucerne avenue. At a guess the hedge needs at least 4 ft removed from it. This hedge and the one opposite has been reported on a regular basis so surely it can been logged in a diary system. The residents of campion place will look forward to a speedy resolution or I feel I will take this safety issue to our local MP!

Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are legally obligated to properly maintain vegetation on their property that is next to the public highway. If the vegetation affects the safety of highway users, it becomes their responsibility. However, in this instance, t would appear that the vegetation has already been attended to.
