Grass verge 5>6ft high
Reported via mobile in the Grass category anonymously at 17:36, Sat 25 May 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later
The grass verge is so high, it now creates a horrendously dangerous blind spot for pedestrians and cyclists to cross. I am 6ft tall, and the picture is taken from my eyeline. It is impossible to have a clear view of vehicles leaving the roundabout and heading towards the crossing. My son rides a recumbent bike and he has no vision AT ALL!

Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf
