Hedges and grass needs cutting

Reported via mobile in the Hedges category anonymously at 11:16, Sat 25 May 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

I spoke to hanborough parish council last week and was advised this is to be reported on here.. bushes and hedges on the public footpath hate massively overgrown and you are unable to walk on the grass as it’s around 6 ft tall. This is restricting access to church hanborough as walking on the road is dangerous. Please can this be cut back and grasses trimmed

Updated by Oxfordshire County Council at 11:16, Sat 25 May 2024

  • Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf
