Overgrown verges

Please would you get your team to mow the verges around the Fairacres/Ernest Road junction. They look so much smarter when mown (nb photo where someone has mown a patch), and improve Didcot’s reputation. For the record, I adamantly disagree with your ‘one mow a year’ policy, because I think it lets the area down and means people don’t treat it with respect. Thanks!

Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf
