Blocked drainage gulley.

Reported via mobile in the Blocked Drain / Gully category by Pete Eockham at 21:35, Saturday 18 May 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

After rain the road floods at Kidmore End Turn. This photo was taken over 24 hours of rain stopping,so obviously it's not draining away. From the gulley on the inside of corner, the water should drain into another gully on the opposite side of road, by chevrons, then into fairly recent pipework under path, to a manhole and down a pipe, parallel with laurel hedge in open ditch at the top of Reades Lane. Even when road is totally flooded, water does not flow through pipes into ditch. Reported this before to Highways but still the same. Think tanker did 'suck' out gulley but no improvement so obviously pipes blocked. Sorry to go on but have lived in Reades Lane for many years and suffered flooding in heavy rain. Not only the flooding ,cars go onto the wrong side of road,on a blind bent to miss the flood.
