Growing hedge means shared used path now dangerous

Reported via mobile in the Vegetation & maintenance category by Tom Ibbotson at 23:38, Tue 14 May 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The cycle path on the north side of this road is now a shared pedestrian and cycle path in both directions. The growing hedge here means that it is too narrow. This is dangerous while it's a 40 mile an hour bus lane right next to the path. Please could this hedge be cut. The situation will improve once the roadworks have finished, but it is increasingly dangerous in the meantime.

  • This stretch of pavement is still overgrown. Outside the park and ride.

  • I experienced this on 28 June, but I see someone has beaten me to it now I have sat down to report it today. There is now also hemlock flopping out into the path of cyclists on this stretch (poisonous plant), a few metres further up towards the bridge. The hedge in the photo is hawthorn, which will soon have hardened thorns on it.
