Very dangerous pothole causes swerving

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 10:50, Tuesday 14 May 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

A very deep pothole has been present near to New Barn Farm for several weeks and causes vehicles to swerve. It was marked by a traffic cone to warn road users; the cone has now been crushed. Repair has not been made after several weeks, although the hole appears to have been marked.

  • Holes got worse, someone's put a sandbag in it a cone over it and a willy sprayed round it GET THIS FIXED

  • The pothole has increased in size and has been artistically decorated. It is causing motorists to swerve into oncoming traffic and it is only a matter of time before an accident occurs.

This pothole was reported separately in April but the two reports have not been linked together.

  • The marked location of the hole is not precise. It is actually nearer the entrance to Brook House, i.e. close to the brook running under the Wallingford Road. However, there should be no excuse for an inspector or repair crew failing to find it.
