Excessive flooding on the junction of Baker Street/Chalk Hill & Aston Street

Reported via desktop in the Flooding on Road category anonymously at 13:14, Thu 2 May 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 7 minutes later

Clearly water is overflowing from Spring Lane into Baker Street & the drains are either blocked of can't cope with the volume.

  • At the junction with Atson Street and Baker St are two drains. I cleared them both but when I opened up the smaller one (closer to Baker St) the man hole and surrounding tarmac (which is the bit that worried me suggesting the tarmac is full of holes) started bubbling a lot. This stopped when I opened up the second drain next to the man hole.

  • So much water still running down the road. A large number of stones in the centre of the road which are a risk to people or animals if they are flicked up by cars.

  • The water has been cleared by the drainage team but the road is very damaged and there are a huge number of stones that need clearing. More than I can sort with a broom as there is nowhere for them to go. They need to be removed.
