There is a 50 mph speed limit sign for road users travelling south on Mill Lane, just before the junction with the B4030. There is no Give Way sign.

The signage seems dangerous and misleading to me. Surely it would be better to have a Give Way sign, here, warning of the junction with the busier B4030. As I was cycling, I didn't notice what the speed limit on Mill Lane was before this 50 mph sign. The lane is very narrow so I would expect drivers to be well below 50 mph before the sign anyway. So, to add to the problem, the 50 mph sign might be (mis?)interpreted as allowing users to go faster here. I'm afraid I didn't notice whether there are give way markings on the road surface but, even if there are, they are unlikely to give adequate warning, especially in the dark. Many thanks for considering this.
