Major damage to road surface following 6 months of flooding

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category by Capt. Quackingduck at 14:25, Monday 8 April 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

Manor Road has been flooding for over 6 months. This has resulted in loads of potholes, one is 8ins/22cm deep, where a drain has sunk. There is also a deep gulley on the side of the road where the water has undercut the road into the road base. Repeated reports on FixMyStreet get closed down without adequate action being taken. Today, 2 vehicles with 3 contractors attended. A couple of the many potholes were patched - one with a rough edge that will lift as soon as water and frost get in it. The biggest (wheel-breaker) pothole had a cone put in it, which will soon be washed away, but the broken tarmac was left on the pavement. The underlying problem of the drains, and underground pipework between them, is still ignored. Will it take a serious accident to get anyone to look at the problem seriously?
