Extensive road surface erosion in North Hinksey Lane
Reported via Android in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 09:35, Mon 8 April 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later
This stretch of road is severely degraded. Besides the usual potholes that are so common on Oxfordshire roads, the road has longitudinal furrows across almost its entire width.
I paced out the affected area and counted 48 x (estimated) 1-metre steps, though there are also additional potholes adjacent to this stretch. As I have been standing typing this several southbound cars have passed me. Every driver chose to avoid the worst of the furrows by switching to the opposite carriageway. Because this coincides with a bend, there is clearly an extra potential collision hazard in addition to the obvious possible hazard to car wheels and suspension, and to road users travelling on two wheels.
This defective stretch requires URGENT attention!
