No repeater signs whatsoever

Reported via iOS in the Traffic Signs category anonymously at 22:07, Thursday 4 April 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Hi, this entire stretch was made a 40mph limit along with a section of the road between Long Wittenham and Appleford and not one repeater sign has been installed? The signs from one particular direction aren’t easy to see and speed is an issue where other road users don’t realise the speed limit, which seems to be making it more dangerous than before when it was a NSL. Thanks a lot for your help!

  • Thank you for reporting this. The scheme is in the process of being reallocated following the departure of an officer from the Highway Agreements team. This will be picked up by the new officer once they have reviewed the file.

  • As there is no repeat on the Abingdon Road from the North smart satnav says its 60mph as it hasn't read a new 40 sign for that new road after turning off the 40 zone.
