White line is not on edge of road

Reported via mobile in the Road Markings category anonymously at 11:34, Friday 15 March 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 7 minutes later

The white line in the new part of the A44 is on the pavement and not in the road. It is very confusing for motorists in the dark and wet and has resulted in me and numerous other drivers hitting the curb and damaging our wheels. The white line needs to be moved to avoid any serious collisions.

  • Agree with this and needs to be corrected asap. Very confusing especially when dark. Driver infront of my clipped curb and would have collided with the oncoming traffic if there had been any.

  • Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. This footway is a shared cycle and pedestrian route, the white lines are to warn cyclists they are nearing the carriageway.
