Pedestrian crossing Yarnton

Reported via desktop anonymously at 15:02, Tue 5 March 2024

Sent to Cherwell District Council and Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

I reported recently a dangerous, as I saw it, new Zebra Pedestrian crossing on the A44 near the Cassington Road. Where you can't see the lights when you are crossing as they are set sideways to the pavement & that they go out after a few seconds. You don't know if it is still safe to cross. I have had a reply explaining that it is a Toucan or Pelican & that the lights do stop, but that sensos in the road will still stop the traffic. SO why is there a new large red sign at the end of Cassington Road saying ZEBRA CROSSING

  • Thank you for raising this to our attention. I can confirm the zebra crossing sign refers to the new Zebra crossing on Cassington Road and not the new Toucan crossing on the A44 dual carriageway.
