Lay by has huge holes and very muddy/messy

Reported via desktop anonymously at 14:42, Sat 2 March 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council less than a minute later

The lay by is in a ver sorry state, lots of really big holes, and the drop on some of them is very worrying - could cause some serious damage.

Also very muddy and messy (which I know is down to th Betim elf year and the weather). But the lack of drainage and the holes really don't help.

Would be grateful if this could be resolved. Thank you.

  • This was reported in March 2024 and no action has been taken in 3 months. We are now June 3 months later the pot hole is at least 6-8inches deep and 20 feet long and at night this unlit area is dangerous anyone walking could fall off the edge and seriously hurt themselves. The pot hole is so deep if you try and drive a car and it slips off into the pot hole the underside of the car would be ripped off. The lay-by i believe is owned by Oxfordshire county council and is in regular use 24/7. Anyone parked up in this area other vehicles will struggle to get passed the pothole.

  • Pictures to try and show the size, depth and dangerous nature of the pothole now the water is evaporating.

  • I saw a car fall into this a really struggle to get out again. It’s bad and very dangerous.

The ditch also needs clearing again please as visibility is poor getting out onto the main road again.
