Resident is charging electric car with cable running over pavement

Reported via desktop anonymously at 08:45, Wednesday 28 February 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council 1 minute later

The resident is charging their electric vehicle every night with a charging cable that is running directly from the front window on the property over the pavement. This is extremely dangerous given that there is limited lighting at night and no alternative pavement on the other side of the road to cross to. The wire is there every night. this morning it was still there at 08:15 and I got my foot caught in the wire whilst jumping to avoid it which could have caused an accident. This is a hazard to wheelchair/pushchair users and the elderly especially.

  • Address is 1 Portway Cottages, Reading Road, East Hendred OX12 8JE. Please investigate ASAP as the resident continues to charge the vehicle every night with the cable hanging out of the window and directly across the pavement to the vehicle - this is very dangerous
