Water flowing down Brill road, ditch overflowing

Reported via desktop in the Flooding on Road category by Colin Croft at 16:44, Mon 19 February 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

Large volume of water flow during and after recent heavy rain, flow continuing after the rainfall ceased. The junction area is affected and will become dangerous in the event of freezing. The road surface is already quite worn and will deteriorate rapidly. The issue has been present for some weeks and is getting worse. Forecast rain and cold weather is very concerning.

  • Water flowing out of top end of ditch up Brill road across driveway, then doing a U turn to flow down Brill Rd. to junction with Horton Hill, have NEVER seen this in 58 years. Checked ditch, not found to be blocked, therefore presumed pipe under road taking water from Farm, ers field behind Forge Close was blocked. In earlier days this used to be jetted out by Council, Ploughly Rural District Council, Bicester.
