Trees and bushes now growing into road.

Reported via desktop in the Hedges category anonymously at 09:33, Tuesday 13 February 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

West side of road from river to railway bridge need a significant cut back. It is supposed to be 2 way but has narrowed due to vegetation on west of road. Damaged my car trying to avoid another vehicle coming the other way.

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Oxfordshire County Council at 09:34, Tuesday 13 February 2024

  • Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf
