Tree debris obstructing pavement
Reported in the Footways and Pavement damage category by Martin Buckland at 14:41, Wed 19 November 2014
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
Some months ago the tree by the Northbound South Avenue bus stop was trimmed back as it had encroached across the pavement. The branches were not collected and in spite of other people reporting this and OCC saying they would take action (about 12 weeks ago) the debris is still there. It is spreading cross the pavement and with the longer darkness it presents a trip hazard to pedestrians, especially the elderly.
Could this debris be removed as a matter of urgency please?
There is a lot of dead material around the base of the tree which also needs to be pulled out or that will spread across the pavement too.

Oxfordshire County Council gave me the number of Biffa who would collect the debris if I phoned them on 03000 610 610. Given the problems over the last few months of this issue my wife and I bagged up and stacked the tree debris. There are about 18 sacks of pine needles and twigs which had spread across the pavement. I phone Biffa as soon as we had finished and they have undertaken to send their roadside team out to collect. The issue will be closed when the bags and cuttings are finally collected. There was also a wheelbarrowfull of bottles, cans and other litter which will be re-cycled where possible.
The photo shows the now cleared bus stop area.

With commendable alacrity Biffa collected all the bags and cuttings by 11.00 this morning after I phoned them yesterday afternoon. Job done at last with a bit of 'community input'!
