Blocked drain which is not marked as a drain on your map

Reported via desktop by Edward Hayter at 13:48, Saturday 20 January 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later

This blocked drain gully, which is not marked on your map as an existing gully, has has to be uncovered by two of our Parish Councillors (photo taken in the Autumn) as it was totally covered in earth. It is next to a tree on the inside corner of the road. The drain clearly does exist (although apparently there was no record of it). The drain is fully silted up after years of neglect resulting in large puddles forming on that corner across the whole road even when the fields around are dry (ie it has nothing to do with the fields nearby being flooded). Photos during very cold weather taken today show the partly frozen puddle reduced in size and a stick pointing to the position of the drain. This will need to be cleared to prevent the road becoming impassable in wet weather, or as has happened before, vehicles use the very outside of the road which is higher, to get past and the road edge has collapsed as a result.
