Poor road quality and large pot holes

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 11:05, Fri 19 January 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

Poor road quality, dangerous extruding paving and large pot holes near the verge as you enter 'Besselsleigh Road'. During heavy rain this area fills with water and you cannot see the potholes or extruding paving which is dangerous to drivers.

  • Curb edge not paving*

  • There was now regular major flooding at the junction with Besselsleigh Road and A420 which in my opinion is dangerous for drivers who have to pull off A420 on to Besselsleigh Road and directly into flood water this will at some point cause an accident on the A420. Cars pulling on to the A420 have to sit in flood water waiting to pull on to the A420 which is also dangerous. This issue really does need fixing as a matter of urgency before there is an accident!

  • This continues to be a problem and the water lasts for a couple of days after it rains. Latest flooding from 22nd February 2024.

  • The very large potholes are getting larger and deeper. They have become extremely dangerous. They are located opposite the Greyhound pub on the corner when you leave the A420 to drive towards Wootton. Urgent repairs are needed.

  • The photo was taken 23rd March 2024, there has been no action on this following the investigation started in January, the condition of the road and the flooding is getting worse.

  • Further to my previous report of this area of road on the 7th May which caused £620 pound worth of damage to my car see attached photos from today

  • This continues to be an issue, water across the whole road here again today even after not much rain, causing tailbacks on the main road. Seems to be some kind of drainage issue here that is new in the last 6months, and the potholes grow each time too.
