Carriage has water all over it which has turned to ice.

Reported via desktop in the Ice/Snow category anonymously at 13:05, Tue 16 January 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

There is water over the road here that has become ice/slush with the cold weather. Appears not to have been gritted and is very slippery and dangerous. The worst part of it is on the carriageway travelling North to Ickford.

  • Thank you for your report. The Oxfordshire County Council typically salts roads between November 1st and March 31st, although this period may be extended if weather conditions necessitate it. Our commitment is to maintain major roads free from ice, reducing the risk of accidents and ensuring smooth traffic flow. Precautionary salting, also known as “gritting,” plays a crucial role in achieving this goal.
For information on specific Oxfordshire routes that are routinely salted during the winter, you can visit the One Network website and select “gritting routes” under driver information.
