Parking issue with boggy groubd

Reported via mobile in the Grass category anonymously at 12:07, Sun 7 January 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I am emailing to express my concern for a pathway that is located directly outside my house that is continually water logged and causing cars and vans to get stuck whilst attempting to drive over it and park.

Yesterday a council van broke down and then got stuck in the mud for example, this is the third time over the Christmas period that someone has gotten stuck there due to the ground being heavily water logged and so I am writing to ask that there is some form of ‘do not park’ deterrent placed on the grass area so that it deters people from driving over the grass and parking right outside my kitchen window and stops this issue with people getting stuck.

Not only is it not pleasant to have to look at right outside my window but it invades our privacy, allowing people to think that it is a public parking space when In fact it really isnt.

I have attached some photos so you can see what I am talking about but something really must be done in order to stop this from continually happening. The ‘keep clear’ road markings must also be repainted in order to stop people from parking and blocking mine and my neighbours driveway.

  • Thank you for your report. Please could you provide a bit more information about the problem? Is it residents accessing the hardened area beyond the keep clear markings? It might be possible to provide timber bollards to protect the verge but it is likely to generate opposition from those trying to park.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
