Hawthorn hedge on new road ( opposite quick row) is hanging over the footpath, needs trimming back

This hedging is at the bottom of my garden in Calais Dene, not on my property but bordering it, it is on New Road opposite Quick Row and is council owned, it is now hanging over the footpath and needs trimming back.

Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are legally obligated to properly maintain vegetation on their property that is next to the public highway. If the vegetation affects the safety of highway users, it becomes their responsibility. However, in this instance, since the highway was not obstructed, there may not be sufficient cause to take further action at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation during statutory inspections.
