Missing Streetlight
Reported via desktop in the Vehicle/ Accident Damage category anonymously at 17:27, Sat 30 December 2023
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
The street light on the end of the horizontal pole in the photo appears to have been ripped off by a passing vehicle? There was a long length of cable in the road which I have disposed of safely. The road is very dark on this stretch and is dangerous for cyclists without this light. Previous complaint marked as resolved but it isn't. Pitch black and extremely dangerous. No footpaths makes things worse.

Received an email saying the job had been sent to the contractor and it would be fixed with a target date of 11 January 2024. A month later and still nothing.

This was supposed to be fixed nearly a year ago but nothing has happened. It is pitch black on this stretch with several houses and no footpath. This streetlight is essential for safety during the winter. It is an accident waiting to happen as people still, inexplicably, walk up Ickleton Road and there are many many cyclists. Please repair it before something terrible happens.
