Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 09:47, Wed 13 December 2023

New development using Blounts Court Rd as an access way. The road is single lane with no passing spots in a number of places. Contractor often has 4 or 5 vehicles, (see picture) from 7am in the morning going in both directions on the road at the same time blocking roads, dragging mud onto the highway, using verges to pass and generally creating dangerous situations.

Did you see this report ? > "Mud on road - Illegal? Highways Act 1980?" of 10:42, Tuesday 5 December 2023. Does this bode well for how this development will develop?

Our Senior Site Inspector had a meeting with the site based project manager this morning. He agreed there were issues last week with deliveries not adhering to the proposed Construction Traffic Management Plan and has had several meetings with them to reinforce the agreed delivery conditions.
They will be keeping an eye on things this week and our Site Inspector will visit again to discuss if any further issues arise. They have advised that they have daily sweeper visits from 8am to 5pm and the sweeper turned up at about 8.20am this morning while our site Inspector was there.
