Ditch needs 25metres of Pipe and Shingle

The ditch you dug 2019 from the tree to the culvert sediment pool worked well but has needed twice yearly maintenance, vegetation and soil falling in the ditch cause blockage. The field has now dried and the ditch only has low water flow from three intercepted small springs.
To reduce maintenance and make it easier for the farmer to flail the hedge and mow, could you please install a 100mm corrugated perforated drain pipe and shingle from the tree to the sediment collection pool at the culvert.
Could you then fill in the ditch to the surrounding ground levels so the hedge can be maintained better.
We plan on installing an improved retaining wall around the culvert sediment pool, please leave the drain pipe long into the pool so we can cut it flush to the planned wall.

Thank you for your report. Unfortunately maintenance of ditches is riparian owners responsibility. Highway authority has a right to discharge water from the highway to roadside ditches and culverts however is down to riparian owners to maintain those assets.
