New pelican crossing and louder road surface.

Reported via mobile in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 19:02, Mon 27 November 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I am not being treated fairly with a report received regarding a new pelican crossing and poor road surface. A previous resident was told that excessive noise along dunmore road was caused be a new resin surface that stopped skidding. As you can clearly see in the photo attached there’s no new surface. Could someone please respond with a sensible report and not just say report closed.

  • Don't expect a helpful or sensible response from the council. They will just fob you off and never solve any issues. Raise the problem with your councillor who will also fob you off. Then vote for better councillors at the next election.

  • There has been some high friction surfacing laid in advance of the signal crossing for road safety reasons. This surfacing is a standard product which does not increase noise to unacceptable levels and so we are satisfied that the design and construction is acceptable.

  • Please could someone take my report seriously. The excessive noise from the road surf started just after the pelican crossing was completed. I have attached photos taken after completion and there’s no sign of a new surface.
