A40 bypass between Cutteslowe and Barton Park/Northway

Reported via desktop in the Suggested improvements category anonymously at 16:54, Mon 20 November 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Please would the council give consideration to adding lighting for cyclists to the Northern bypass between Cutteslowe and Barton Park even if just for the winter season, 16:30-20:00 to allow cycle commuters from Headington to return that way rather than via the busier Summertown route. Using the northern bypass in the dark is difficult as you can't tell when the path dips/undulates or see where you're going properly even with powerful bike lights. Going through Summertown where the traffic is extremely busy and having to navigate ferry rd/ Banbury junction can be challenging for cyclists as they get squeezed by cars/buses. Please can options for lighting be investigated for the bypass, to provide a safe route through winter dark evenings. With thanks,

Council ref: 5234058
