Road surface

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category by Graham Breakspear at 11:18, Wed 15 November 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 6 minutes later

Hello, A new crossing was put in on Dunmore rd between parson mead and farm rd. This has be really useful except for the new road surface which so much more loader than the old road surface. I live in Vernon place and this has really started to affect my sleep because of the noise. I am close to Dunmore road the normal road surface is fine it just the new surface. Why does it create so much more noise and can something be done to solve this?

  • There has been some high friction surfacing laid in advance of the signal crossing for road safety reasons. This surfacing is a standard product which does not increase noise to unacceptable levels and so we are satisfied that the design and construction is acceptable.
