Bus stop on crossing

Reported via mobile in the Road Markings category anonymously at 08:43, Fri 27 October 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

There is currently a temporary bus stop located on a zebra crossing next to Longford park primary school. The prevents drivers being able to see people waiting to cross or people crossing blocked by the bus. In my opinion this has high potential to cause an incident involving children on a busy road. This is also causing the local busses to stop on the crossing.

  • Any update on this? Walked past this morning and it's still an issue. Seems to be slow to resolve the ability to move a bus stop 50 yards

  • Still hasn't been resolved. An accident waiting to happen given the speed at which cars over take a stopped bus here.

  • This is becoming a joke. What a combination. A primary school, stupid parking by irresponsible parents, a zebra crossing.....and a bus stop in the crossing. Are you waiting for a serious accident or death before you resolve this?

  • How can a bus stop be on a zebra crossing? This is so dangerous for the pedestrians and especially as it is right by the Junior school where foot traffic is heavy twice a day. It’s a simple matter of relocating the bus stop. Nothing is planned on this estate, nothing is done with a modicum of common sense.

  • I've nearly had several incidents with pedestrians walking out Infront of the bus on the crossing and you just can't see them. Even when you crawl up to it, you cannot see around the front of the bus. It's just far too close.

  • Remains very difficult to see around. Accident waiting to happen. Needs resolving before it’s too late!

  • The temporary bus stop should have been moved as part of the crossing works. We will request that the developer does this ASAP.
