Road markings/lane signs at roundabout
Reported via mobile in the Road Markings category anonymously at 20:13, Wed 11 October 2023
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Please can we have clear road markings/lane signs for this roundabout. It seems to be unclear to multiple drivers how to drive on this roundabout i.e. lefthand lane for left and straightforward (as there are no markings/signs). Anything to make it clear will prevent crashes/emergency stops which are having to happen.

The Highway Design Guide does not recommend directional arrows be located on the approaches to roundabouts and that the stance is to allow the natural demand of local traffic to determine the most appropriate lane use, dependent upon traffic demand, which can change throughout the day in order for the roundabout to work in the most efficient way. However, we note your concerns regarding a number of potential near misses and so we have asked our Road Safety Team to investigate, who also agree that there are issues which require further investigation.

I would like an update from the Road Safety Team. I see another request has been put in by another member of the public stating similar safety issues in January.
