Need for further 20 mph sign in North Hinksey Village please
Reported via desktop anonymously at 14:02, Mon 25 September 2023
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council 1 minute later
While there is a 20 mph sign by the Fishes pub, the regular traffic to and from the Rugby Club ignores this once past the Fishes. There are often cars parked by the Green as in the photo. This makes any speed over 20 mph quite dangerous. Please could another 20 sign be placed by the notice board at the end of the Green to remind these drivers, many of whom are young men in powerful or large cars, of the limit

Thank you for getting in contact regarding the 20mph limit in North Hinksey Lane. The request for additional signage has been noted for future consideration.
It may have already been raised, however it might be worthwhile to contact the rugby club about this matter. Yourself of a member of the Parish Council could request that they address their members/ patrons in regards to considerate driving in the village.
For concerns related to vehicle speed or dangerous driving along this section of road, it may be beneficial to contact Thames Valley Police.
Speed enforcement is currently the responsibility of Thames Valley Police and whilst we will raise these concerns with them ourselves residents can raise them directly. As I’m sure you appreciate, they will have to prioritise resources accordingly. The community speed-watch scheme has also recently been relaunched by TVP which may be of interest to you. Of which more information can be found at
