Vandalised doorbell

Yesterday I returned home to find someone has vandalised my door bell by breaking off the white outer casing which was found on the footpath. I don't know if any one has any CCTV of the area from Old Union Way. I'm not sure why someone would have walked off the publically accessible footpath to deliberately damage the bell unless they have a grievance against me, however it does seem coincidental this has happened when Thame Fair is on and the High Street is closed off. The incident happened between 8am and 9pm.
